6. Buckle your seatbelt over the blanket
There is nothing more disappointing than being woken up by a flight attendant checking to see if you have your seatbelt on since you had it on under your blanket.
7. Choose your seat wisely
If you are trying to get a solid chunk of sleep in while you are on the flight opting for a window seat is always a good idea. You won’t ever have the person sitting next to you wake you up when they need to get past to go to the bathroom.
8. Skip caffeine
Duh. Caffeine is a stimulant and will keep you awake and definitely make it harder to sleep. Try to avoid any caffeine for at least 5 hours before you indent to fall asleep.
9. No alcohol
Sorry to break it to you but booze might help you fall asleep quickly but it won’t help you stay asleep for long and the sleep you do get won’t be restorative. Stick with water and stay hydrated.
10. Try a sleep aid
There are over the counter options that could help you sleep. Definitely consult your doctor before hand to make sure you are making the correct decision. Some of the options are melatonin supplements and Dramamine.
